Over 100 films, over 35 directors attend, over one weekend in Detroit

Reporter Nora Flaherty interviewed Detroit Docs founder Chris Walny who described the 105 documentaries coming to Detroit at three venues on the Wayne State campus, the DIA, the Birmingham 8 and the Detroit Film Center. The opening party at the Welcome Center on the campus of Wayne State, Thurs., Nov. 11, from 7 to 10 pm., will feature an award to Wayne State's Harvey Ovshinsky, streaming films and visiting dignitaries and filmmakers. This year's line-up features the docs that are winning all the awards at other festivals. This weekend will be the only time you can meet the filmmakers in person and catch many of the films in Michigan on the big screen. Wayne will host film workshops and panels with filmmakers and Wayne experts this weekend.
